Like the previous conferences in this series, The Seventh International Conference on Remediation of Chlorinated and Recalcitrant Compounds is being organized and presented by Battelle. Sponsors include other leading organizations active in site remediation research and application. The 2008 Conference was attended by more than 1,750 scientists, engineers, regulators, and other environmental professionals representing universities, government site management and regulatory agencies, and R&D and manufacturing firms from 32 countries.

The 2010 technical program will consist of approximately 850 platform and poster presentations in 65 technical sessions, as well as three panel discussions. The sessions and panels are organized according to 13 major themes. Additional technical information will be provided by exhibits from an estimated 75 companies and government agencies engaged in remediation-related activities. Seventeen short courses are scheduled on Sunday and on Wednesday afternoon. Receptions and other meals offered throughout the Conference will balance the intense program schedule and will afford attendees numerous opportunities to meet informally with one another. The Monterey Conference Center and the adjoining hotels, the Marriott and the Portola, are within easy walking distance of the Fishermen’s Wharf/Cannery Row area on the beautiful Monterey Bay coastline. In this picturesque setting, Conference attendees will find ample sightseeing, shopping, and dining options for their free time evenings and during the Wednesday afternoon recess.

As part of Battelle’s ongoing effort to reduce the quantity of printing materials consumed in preparing and conducting our conferences and thereby minimize their environmental impact, the informational mailing for the 2010 Conference will be conducted with a small brochure that provides highlights of the technical program, short courses, and other features of the Conference. For detailed information, see the 76-page Preliminary Program, posted here in PDF format and designed to optimize on-screen browsing and searching. A small number of copies were printed, and you may send an e-mail to chlorcon@battelle.org or call 614-424-7866 to request that a printed copy be mailed to you; be sure to provide your complete postal address.
