Battelle Awarded Contract by EPAs Office of Air Quality Planning & Standards
Battelle was recently awarded a five-year $6.3 million contract with EPAs Office of Air Quality Planning & Standards (OAQPS). Under this contract, Battelle scientists and key subcontractors will provide technical support to OAQPS in fulfilling its mission of managing the nations ambient air monitoring and quality assurance programs. Important issues to be addressed are the measurement of criteria pollutants (ozone, particulate matter, carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and lead), parameters involved with ozone and secondary particulate pollutant formation, Clean Air Act III air toxic pollutants, and acid deposition. Battelles support will include development and application of statistical techniques, risk assessment, model evaluation, monitoring network design, trends analysis, data quality objectives and other quality assurance activities, outreach activities, and regulatory support.
