Pollutant Analysis Conference

Battelle and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are joint sponsors of the 23rd Annual Conference on Analysis of Pollutants in the Environment, to be held May 14-16, 2000, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This conference is designed for environmental professionals from commercial environmental laboratories, regulated industries, State and Federal regulatory agencies, consulting and contracting firms, municipal water and wastewater laboratories, and laboratory equipment manufacturers.

This conference continues to be recognized as the leading forum for discussion of the technical issues related to environmental water regulations and compliance monitoring. A pre-conference workshop on Alternate Test Procedures (ATP) will take place on Sunday, May 14. The workshop will address the requirements for seeking limited and nationwide approval of new and modified methods for use in EPA’s water programs. Conference technical programs on May 15-16 will include presentations on metals, microbiologicals, quality control, organics, chlorinated biphenyls, cyanides, anions, and detection and quantitation. Representatives from the EPA Office of Water will present the most recent developments in laboratory technology. Presenters also will include independent laboratory experts and Federal and State regulatory personnel in the environmental measurements field who can provide answers to participants’ specific laboratory-related questions.
