New Location and Executive Director The new year has brought several changes to the Environmental Technology Commercialization Center (ETC2), including a move of its headquarters to the recently opened Emerald Corporate Park in Cleveland, Ohio, and the appointment of staff to new management roles. The mission of ETC2 is to analyze the U.S. Environmental Protection Agencys (EPA) expertise, resources and intellectual property and make EPA-developed technologies available to private sector firms. Sara Lundine, formerly the ETC2 Deputy Director, has taken the helm as the Centers Executive Director. Ms. Lundine replaces Martin Kress, who has become the Vice President and General Manager of Battelles NASA Market Sector. Ms. Lundine brings to the task an extensive background in working with R&D organizations, industry, universities and federal and state government. Assisting the Executive Director are Kathryn Iwamasa, Director of Operations and Special Projects and Joseph Jasper, Director of Business Development and Agreements. Ms. Iwamasa and Mr. Jasper formerly served as Senior Research Scientist and Technology Director, respectively. ETC2 functions as a technology intermediary, assessing the market potential of promising EPA technologies and identifying potential industry partners. The Center also works to forge cooperative research activities between industry, other government agencies and the EPA. The EPA Program Manager for the ETC2 initiative is Larry Fradkin, Director of the EPA Federal Technology Transfer Office in Cincinnati, Ohio. ETC2 headquarters is co-located with several Battelle programs including the Great Lakes Industrial Technology Center, Garrett Morgan Commercialization Initiative, the Technology Partnership Practice and the Glennan Microsystems Initiative. ETC2 field offices are located in Cincinnati, Dayton, and Toledo, Ohio; Duxbury, Mass.; Seattle, Wash.; Research Triangle Park, N.C.; and Chicago, Ill.
