Battelle has also been working with the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA), an industry group that seeks to ensure regulations for transmission pipelines are meaningful and effective. Battelle is working to provide scientific bases for items like testing frequency and inspection methodologies. In this way, the right inspection/testing tool can be applied to the right set of conditions at the appropriate interval. Battelle will provide defensible information on which industry can base its input and recommendations to the Department of Transportation’s Office of Pipeline Safety (OPS).
