
Battelle Co-sponsors EPA Pollutants Conference
Battelle and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are jointly co-sponsoring the 24th Annual Conference on Analysis of Pollutants in the Environment to be held May 8-10, 2001 at the Renaissance Portsmouth Hotel in Portsmouth, Va. This conference continues to be recognized as the leading forum for discussion of technical issues related to environmental water regulations and compliance monitoring. This year, the conference will include technical presentations on the mornings of May 8 and 9, followed by afternoon workshops on Hands-on Sampling for Trace Metals and Whole Effluent Toxicity (WET). A Detection/Quantitation workshop will be held on the morning of May 10. Presentation topics include microbiologicals, organics, sample preservation and holding times, and sediment characterization. Representatives from EPA’s Office of Water will present the most recent developments in technology for use in laboratories. Presenters also include state independent laboratory experts and federal and state regulatory personnel in the environmental measurements field. Question and answer sessions will follow each presentation.
The Conference is specifically designed for environmental professionals from:
- commercial environmental laboratories;
- regulated industries;
- state and federal regulatory agencies;
- consulting and contracting firms;
- municipal water and wastewater laboratories; and
- laboratory equipment manufacturers.
