Two of the six Nobel Prizes awarded to scientists associated with Brookhaven National Laboratory have been won since Battelle and the SUNY-Stony Brook team was selected to operate the Laboratory in 1997, and great centers for research - the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider, the Center for Functional Nanomaterials, and the future Synchrotron Light Source - attract scientists from around the world to Brookhaven.
