Advanced Materials and Water Technologies Initial Focus of R&D work
Battelle recently established an office in Pune, India adding to its growing international footprint that includes offices in Korea, Japan, and Malaysia.
Battelle India will initially focus on advanced materials research and developing water-related technologies. Eventually, research may expand into the areas of health and life sciences and energy.
Shalendra Porwal, a chemical engineer and international marketer who has worked at Battelle for 29 years in various technical and marketing positions, has been named Senior Vice President and General Manager of Battelle India. Porwal is a chemical engineer from IlT Kharagpur and holds graduates degrees in Paper Science and Business from Miami University.
“Battelle India will enable companies to develop new products and technologies,” Porwal said.
