Battelle scientists are keenly aware of what oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens, Jr. recently said:  “Water is the next oil.”

Battelle has focused research on water and its sustainability.  Two Battelle scientists will discuss what’s in the future for the world’s water supply at a brown bag discussion at the Ohio State University College of Arts’ Urban Arts Space on July 30 from noon to 1 p.m.  The focus will be the application of a holistic, integrated systems approach to manage, improve, and sustain the world’s water resources.

Michael Von Fahnestock, Program Manager for Chemical, Environmental, and Material Operations, and Nick Conkle, Research Leader for Advanced Materials and Process Engineering, will talk about taking on the worldwide freshwater crisis.

The Urban Arts Space is located at 50 W. Town Street in Columbus.
