BATTELLE AND SYPHERLINK PARTNER TO SUPPORT NATIONAL SECURITY, LAW ENFORCEMENT EFFORTS

Partners providing technology and expertise to regional, state, and federal agencies in support of information sharing initiatives

Dublin, OH--Battelle, a global leader in science and technology, and Sypherlink, Inc., the leading provider of automated data mapping software, today announced their partnership to provide knowledge management solutions to government agencies. Sypherlink's automated data mapping and rapid prototyping software, along with the company's rapid implementation methodology, are embedded within Battelle's Information Fusion Solution, enabling government agencies significant time and cost savings for deployment of critical national security initiatives.

"Today's defense and national security efforts require increasingly sophisticated methods of information sharing," said James Paat, Sypherlink president and CEO. "Agencies can no longer rely on the inefficient method of manually accessing data from many separate, disparate computer systems. They need one, holistic view of all available information to make real-time decisions. Our offering with Battelle provides an end-to-end solution for understanding, accessing, and analyzing information to enable these critical decisions."

"Sypherlink's unique, patented technology is at the core of our solution, providing the means to automate and accelerate much of the manual information integration process and a method for virtually centralizing data across many different sources," said Moses Kamai, Knowledge Management Practice Leader for Battelle's National Security Division.

Battelle is currently providing Information Fusion Solutions to national defense and state customers in the areas of law enforcement and chemical and biological defense.

Battelle has supported the national interest for more than 75 years, providing solutions to America's toughest technical and scientific challenges. Battelle's Information Fusion Solution enables local, state, and federal agencies to effectively and securely share information that is critical to reaching a common goal. Specifically it enables agencies to:

  • Obtain an accurate view of the data available across various information sources;
  • Determine how the data across various information sources relates;
  • Access all the data from a single, virtual data store, without altering the original source systems;
  • Discover valuable intelligence using information visualization analysis.

      Sypherlink's Harvester and Exploratory Warehouse are embedded within the solution. Harvester is used to automate the mapping process-the necessary, but traditionally costly and error-prone, task of understanding where key relationships exist between data sources. Exploratory Warehouse is used to create the virtual data store which delivers a single view of data from multiple, disparate sources-while leaving source systems untouched.

      About Sypherlink, Inc.

      Sypherlink, Inc. is a privately-held information integration software company serving the global 1000, public sector organizations, and any company with a need to manage or access information across multiple data sources. Sypherlink's suite of products significantly reduces the time and cost associated with data-sharing and data-integration initiatives by enabling companies to quickly: gain knowledge of where key data exists across an organization; access that data from multiple, disparate sources; and ensure reliability of data, for quality and consistency. Today, this process-an essential first step in every data-sharing initiative-is manual, costly, and error-prone. Sypherlink automates the process, resulting in a much faster, less costly, and higher-quality implementation. Sypherlink implementations have shown a 50 to 85 percent reduction in the time and costs associated with data sharing and integration initiatives.
