San Diego, CA—Bonita Vista High School’s International Baccalaureate program in San Diego, California is the recipient of a $7,000 grant from Battelle. This grant will upgrade the science department’s computers, helping pave the way for a more interactive environment and more educational resources in the lab.

 

Dr. Michelle Mardahl, Bonita Vista High School’s biology teacher, researched this funding for over five years before securing this grant from Battelle.  Battelle donates time and money to improve and expand science and math programs which promote the advancement of learning in the classroom.  Battelle, a not-for-profit trust, gives back a minimum of 20 percent of its net income each year.

 

“We firmly believe that helping to educate our young people in math and science is crucial to the success of our economy in the U.S.,” said James Bird, Associate Manager, Battelle San Diego Office.  “We’re glad to provide support whether it’s through our staff volunteering time or through donations.”
