Battelle helps chemical firms compete effectively in the global marketplace
through technological innovation. Examples include molecular modeling for chemical
screening and synthesis, novel separation technologies, and membrane reactors for
improved process yield and selectivity. Battelle also addresses the challenges of
environmental stewardship - for example, we are developing cost-effective soy-based
plasticizers. Battelle's consulting services translate technical know-how into profitability and competitive advantage. We help customers develop business strategies that address the full product life cycle, resulting in product differentiation, risk minimization, stakeholder satisfaction, and enhanced resource productivity. For example, Battelle is helping a major global manufacturing firm develop and produce environmentally friendly adhesive products. In 1996, Battelle became a partner member of the Chemical Manufacturers Association. We also co-founded the Chemical Industry Environmental Technology Projects (CIETP), a collaborative venture among several leading chemical firms, whose current projects include reducing sludge generation for biological wastewater treatment facilities. Also in 1996, Battelle formed a venture with Greenhill Technologies to provide a state-of-the-art, broadly permitted facility for rapid, full-scale demonstration and commercialization of environmental and process technologies. By creating high-value products, processes, and business solutions, Battelle helps chemical firms forge a sustainable and profitable path to continued growth.
