COSI sign

At Battelle, we believe that informal science centers are valuable assets to our citizens and to the achievement of STEM literacy - and COSI is one of the best! As an organization with its roots in science and technology, Battelle recognizes that high-quality science related exhibits and publicly accessible technology-rich programs have never been more important to provide accurate understanding of key issues that face our world.

For more than 30 years Battelle has been an ardent supporter of COSI. Several years ago our partnership was redefined when COSI turned to Battelle for guidance during a challenging time of transition. With the leadership provided by Battelle's former President and CEO Carl Kohrt and our current Senior VP of Education and Philanthropy Rich Rosen, COSI adopted a new business model.

Today the Battelle-COSI partnership is a shining example of a mutually beneficial collaboration. COSI is now the headquarters for the Ohio STEM Learning Network (OSLN), is the informal science education partner to the OSLN, and serves as a Learning Center Partner Site for the Metro High School. In the coming months, Battelle will be working with COSI to conduct STEM program prototyping that will further enhance Battelle's, and Ohio's, role as national leaders of STEM education innovation.
