Battelle for KidsIn May 2001, Battelle and the Ohio Business Roundtable announced an initiative to help create a vastly improved system of public education in Ohio. The program was Battelle for Kids (BFK) and was funded through a $10 million grant from Battelle.

Initially, the program concentrated its efforts in three areas: Public Awareness, Quality Data and Capacity Building.

In 2005, BFK became an independent not-for-profit organization, servicing not only Ohio, but the entire nation. Today, with a focus on value-added analysis and formative assessment, BFK partners with state departments of education and school districts to provide solutions for today’s complex educational-improvement challenges.
