Welcome

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in Battelle. If you are seeking a grant from Battelle, this site will offer you the guidance you need to submit your request. While we accept general inquiries for funding, the majority of grants that we issue begin through relationships developed through our business operations.

Eligibility

For a request to be considered for funding, it must be submitted through our online application system. In addition,  your organization must be located near a Battelle office and be at least one of the following:

  • Tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
  • A public academic institution
  • A publicly (tax-supported) funded entity

Since Battelle is a 501(c)(3) organization, we have certain rules and guidelines we must follow regarding the types of organizations to which we can issue grants. For more details on eligibility requirements, please read our Distribution Guidelines.

What We Look for in a Grant Recipient

Battelle is in the business of innovation. We are looking for partners who share similar objectives in the community and who understand the value of collaboration and strategic planning. Ideally, the grants we issue are applied where your organization’s direction and Battelle’s intersect. As part of our strategic planning, we aim to create partnerships that are sustainable after the grant is completed. These types of grants are frequently referred to as “seed” grants.
