Student Paper CompetitionPapers are due November 30, 2007. Students are encouraged to attend and will find participation in the Conference a valuable part of their career development. The platform and poster presentations and the exhibits will provide useful information about the work of a wide range of organizations. To help make it possible for more students to attend, the student registration fee is half the standard rate,
Eligibility. The primary author must be a full-time student when the paper is submitted. Papers may list faculty advisors as coauthors, but the Conference presentation must be made by the student. A student who already has submitted an abstract to be considered for the program may also submit a paper for the competition, on either the same or a different topic. Students who wish to present their work at the Conference whether or not they win the competition should submit abstracts by July 31, and then submit their papers by the November 30 student paper deadline. Scope and Review Criteria. All papers submitted by the due date will be reviewed by a committee of remediation experts. Review criteria will be originality of the research, technical approach, data interpretation, readability, and general relevance to the scope of the Conference. Format and Submission. Student papers cannot exceed 10 pages (including figures, tables, and references). The format specifications sheet provides detailed specifications and information on submission. Student papers must be received by November 30, 2007; late submissions and papers that do not adhere to the specifications will not be considered. Receipt of each paper will be acknowledged within one week. All competition participants will be informed of the results in March. Inquiries.
