Battelle Wins $34 Million EPA Contract

proposal coverBattelle has just been awarded a $34 million contract with the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to support the Agency’s Endocrine Disruptor Screening Program. Battelle will be involved in comprehensive toxicological and ecotoxicological testing, including chemical, analytical, statistical, and quality assurance/control efforts.

This program will assist EPA in developing, standardizing, and validating a suite of in vitro, mammalian, and ecotoxicological screens and tests for identifying and characterizing endocrine effects of pesticides, industrial chemicals, and environmental contaminants. This project will involve Battelle offices worldwide and will continue to strengthen and broaden our relationships with EPA and other Battelle facilities. Additionally, Battelle will provide specialized expertise as needed. This may include technical assistance from toxicologists, ecotoxicologists, biochemists, statisticians, endocrinologists, analytical chemists, and biologists.
