Established: In 1991, Battelle acquired Survey Research Associates, Inc., and three years later established the Centers for Public Health Research and Evaluation, which became fully incorporated into Battelle in 1997.

Capabilities: Public health research design, data collection, management, coordination, coding and public-use data set creation for research paradigms. Operates a 27-station call center for computer-assisted telephone data collection on difficult-to-reach, diverse and mobile populations such as HIV/AIDS patients and deep sea fishermen.

Points of Pride: Has a long history of conducting high-quality and scientifically defensible research projects for many clients, often over decades. Many award-winning research programs have significantly enhanced public-use data sets for other scientists in various disciplines.

Good Deeds: Staff donate to American Red Cross blood drives; support local nonprofits through monetary, clothes and food donations; serve as mentors; and volunteer with local government agencies and public schools.
