Staff: 29 staff members located in Natick, Mass., Dayton, Ohio and Philadelphia.

Capabilities: Technical staff at Battelle Natick Operations (BNO) include textile technologists, clothing designers, chemists, chemical and mechanical engineers and physicists. They support services such as the development of chemical protective clothing, head and torso protection research, camouflage development, personal cooling device development, flammability protection and evaluation and dress and combat uniforms. If a soldier, Marine, sailor or airman wears it, BNO has probably supported its development or improvement.

Points of Pride: Staff identify and transition projects to other groups within Battelle and across product lines. BNO provides groups within Battelle with opportunities to expand their portfolios and build solid client relationships. Examples include the Protection Against Toxic Industrial Chemicals project, the Army's RESET program and, more recently, a project to determine the effects of explosives on textile materials worn by servicemen.

Good Deeds: Staff participate in various charitable events, most notably the Susan G. Komen for the Cure events, to raise money for breast cancer research. Many staff members assist in fundraising for that and other charitable organizations.
