BATTELLE WINS MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR AIR FORCE CONTRACT

The U.S. Air Force has awarded Battelle a five-year design and engineering contract at the Ogden Air Logistics Center at Hill Air Force Base in Utah. The contract has a ceiling of $450 million.

Battelle will provide engineering and high-level technical services in support of all Air Force Materiel Command weapon systems, components and support equipment. The task-order contract builds upon more than $245 million in prior design engineering program contracts Battelle has held at Odgen and other Air Force bases around the United States.

"Battelle has been a major contributor to improving the reliability and maintainability of current aircraft and weapons systems and processes while reducing Air Force operational costs," said Charles Lucius, Vice President and General Manager of the Air Force Market Sector. "Battelle is helping the Air Force insert proven technologies and methods into existing systems and processes to improve performance, productivity, effectiveness, efficiency and life cycle costs."

This contract allows Battelle to broaden its scope of work for the Air Force and the U.S. Department of Defense. It covers work on a much broader range of systems-everything from fixed and rotary wing aircraft to fire control systems, information systems, training aids and devices to environmental systems.
