While much work takes place at ocean test sites, Battelle labs in Columbus boast four hyperbaric chambers and a research diving pool with a five-ton crane. Battelle scientists and Navy experts have performed ocean engineering research in areas such as ship salvage and oil pollution abatement, surface handling, deep ocean recovery and undersea work systems. Some recent projects involve innovations to side-look sonar systems and underwater cameras. To learn more about Battelle's work with the Navy, read the new edition of Solutions Update.
