The open house will be held at One International Place, within the new Emerald Corporate Park, which serves as the new headquarters for Battelle's NASA sector. Mayor Michael R. "This is really a win-win situation for everyone involved. Battelle is getting a great home in a great city and we are getting the added benefit of a new high-tech firm for our economy." Battelle is one of the world's largest, private, independent R&D organizations. The Battelle Cleveland office hosts several Battelle programs, including the Great Lakes Industrial Technology Center (GLITeC), the Environmental Technology Commercialization Center (ETC2), the NASA Glenn Garrett Morgan Commercialization Initiative, the Technology Partnership Practice, and the Glennan Microsystems Initiative. Battelle's initial activities in this area with the NASA Glenn Research Center have expanded in recent years to include other governmental entities, research foundations, industrial clients, and universities. The new office in Cleveland will provide Battelle with greater proximity to its primary client, NASA Glenn. It also will allow Battelle to play an even larger role in the emerging high technology community in Cleveland. Battelle is one of the first tenants to locate in Emerald Corporate Park which is located at 20445 Emerald Parkway Drive S.W. Marty Kress, Vice President and General Manager of Battelle's NASA Sector, said, "Battelle is highly recognized in the state of Ohio for technology innovation and the commercialization of intellectual property, especially in the Columbus region. With the new office in Cleveland, Battelle hopes that it can bring this expertise and commitment to the challenges and opportunities that exist in Cleveland." Battelle serves industry and government in the areas of technology development, laboratory management, and technology commercialization. Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Battelle has operations at more than 60 locations, clients in 30 countries and revenues of nearly $1 billion a year.
