Battelle is expanding its presence in the inter-mountain West with the opening of a suite of offices in West Valley City, Utah. The office will house existing business operations from Battelle's Dugway, Hill Air Force Base, and Toole, Utah locations in addition to new potential business from throughout the state. An open house to introduce the company to regional business, media and technology leaders is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the new offices, 4225 Lake Park Blvd., Suite 200, in West Valley City. The new Salt Lake City operations will allow the Columbus, Ohio-based Battelle to work closely with the private industry, academic and government sectors in the region. Ray Bills, a Utah native, is managing the office and says he wants to broadly market Battelle's wide variety of technology skills in the Utah business arena. "Battelle has had a presence in Utah for many years with an emphasis toward supporting the Department of Defense on a variety of projects here," Bills said. "However, our focus, in addition to military work, will be to build opportunities for technology partnerships with a broad range of clients capitalizing on Battelle's experience in many different fields."
