BATTELLE, UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON CO-SPONSOR SYMPOSIUM ON GLOBAL COMMERCIALIZATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES

Seattle, WA- The University of Washington (UW) is hosting a symposium on "The Global Commercialization of Environmental Technologies" Friday, March 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in UW's HUB Room 310 (the Student Union Building).

Multidisciplinary student teams will present their research and market analysis on environmental technologies including biological warfare detection, whale monitoring, mercury emissions monitoring from coal-fired power plants, and arsenic in drinking water. The keynote speaker for the symposium is David Welsh, Executive Director of the Northwest Environmental Business Council.

Sponsors of this event include Battelle Memorial Institute, Battelle's Environmental Technology Commercialization Center (ETC2), UW's Environmental Management Certificate Program, Program on the Environment, and the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER).
