Jeffrey Twombly has joined Battelle's Transportation Market Sector as a Transportation Safety Leader based in Rochester.
Twombly, 39, will focus on transportation issues including railway safety and subway control systems. Battelle's Transportation Safety Group provides transit and railway safety analysis, review, and audit services from offices in Columbus, Rochester and Pittsburgh.
A professional engineer with 15 years of experience, Twombly most recently worked at Railway Safety Engineering in Rochester. While there he worked on safety systems for major railroad systems in New York, the San Francisco Bay area, Germany and Hong Kong.
Twombly, who holds several patents, is experienced in safety analysis; specification; hardware and software design; design management; manufacturing coordination; and implementation of new products using real time computer/microprocessor systems for the rail transit and freight railroad signaling and control market.
