PAUL BUSICK JOINS BATTELLE'S TRANSPORTATION GROUP

Paul Busick, a retired Rear Admiral for the U.S. Coast Guard, recently joined Battelle, bringing his years of experience and expertise to Battelle's Transportation Market Sector.

Busick, 57, retired from active duty in 1998 and most recently worked in a temporary post as the Associate Administrator for Civil Aviation Security for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). His responsibilities included working on the worldwide civil aviation security program for the U.S. until the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) became operational.

During his military service as an aviator, Busick commanded the Coast Guard Air Station in San Francisco and the Aviation Training Center in Mobile, Alabama. He also has served as Deputy Chief of the Office of Law Enforcement and Defense Operations in the U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters. As a Rear Admiral, he was appointed Director of the Office of Intelligence and Security for the U.S. Department of Transportation where he served as the Secretary of Transportation's National Security Advisor with policy responsibility for security measures in all modes of transportation.

At Battelle, Busick will primarily focus on security and technical support that Battelle performs for the TSA and the Coast Guard.

Busick holds a B.S. from the USCG Academy and an M.S. in Industrial Administration from Purdue University and is a graduate of the National War College.
