Lieutenant General (Retired) Lawson W. Magruder III recently joined Battelle to serve as Deputy Director of Homeland Security. He is charged with leading Battelle's comprehensive Homeland Security program.
In this role he will focus on integrating Battelle's vast technology resources from its defense-related business and from work performed for other government agencies.
Magruder, 54, most recently served as Deputy Commander/Chief of Staff for the United States Army Forces Command at Ft. McPherson, Georgia. Prior to that he was Commander for the
10th Mountain Division in Ft. Drum, New York , and also served as Army Commander in Latin America.
Magruder received a B.B.A in international marketing at the University of Texas at Austin and an M.A. in Personnel Management from Central Michigan University.
