The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Battelle invite you to attend a Technology Field Day at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 17, at Battelle's headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. The Technology Field Day will include a demonstration of water monitoring technologies for homeland security applications and will feature speakers from EPA. The event will last approximately until 12:30.
The Technology Field Day highlights the first verification of technologies applicable to meeting the nation's homeland security needs. The verification test, which began Monday, will produce data that will be used to evaluate the performance of technologies that measure cyanide in drinking water. Six technologies from five vendors will be displayed and demonstrated.
Speakers at the Technology Field Day include Linda J. Fisher, EPA Deputy Administrator, and E. Timothy Oppelt, Director of EPA's National Homeland Security Research Center. EPA's and ETV's role in homeland security and future ETV verification tests will be discussed.
The Technology Field Day is being sponsored by EPA's Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Program in conjunction with the Agency's National Homeland Security Research Center (NHSRC). ETV generates objective, third party performance data on environmental technologies so that buyers and users can make more informed purchase and application decisions.
