BATTELLE HONORS ITS DISTINGUISHED INVENTORS

Columbus, OH-Battelle honored 29 of its distinguished inventors today in a special ceremony hosted by President and CEO Carl Kohrt.

The inventors are from throughout Battelle including the national labs that Battelle manages or co-manages for the Department of Energy.

"We're very proud to recognize Battelle's history of innovation and the talented scientists behind it," Kohrt said. "Patents enable good things to happen. They're instrumental in bringing new technologies to the marketplace, they enhance the quality of our lives and they ensure the future well-being of Battelle, the national labs and the national interest."

Battelle plans on annually honoring these inventors by holding a ceremonial plaque dedication each year. The 24 scientists honored this year, all have been awarded at least 14 career patents during their careers at Battelle.

The inventors' achievements range from early patents in Xerography, to cutting-edge work in fiber optics and new polymer applications to medical advancements.
