INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST JOINS NASA-SPONSORED INITIATIVE

Cleveland, OH--Robert E. Anthony has joined the Battelle-managed Great Lakes Industrial Technology Center (GLITeC), sponsored by NASA and the Ohio Department of Development. Anthony is an Industrial Technology Specialist focusing on the commercialization of biomedical technologies.

In his new position, Anthony will work one-on-one with a variety of companies interested in working with the NASA Glenn Research Center to commercialize advanced NASA technologies into valuable new products and processes.

"We're very pleased to have Bob join our staff," says Priscilla Diem, Executive Director of GLITeC. "Bob's unique experience greatly expands the capabilities of our team. His background in marketing and business and product development, and his extensive reach into the medical industry are valuable assets to us as we actively extend the ways in which we connect NASA technologies with regional and global companies."

Working part-time with GLITeC, Anthony also is President of the Akron, Ohio, based REA Incorporated. REA Incorporated provides a diverse variety of services to individuals and small- to medium-sized companies with innovative medical devices, products, and services, both domestically and overseas. The company is a powerful resource for emerging companies seeking to add value and reduce the risk associated with successfully developing and marketing their medical technologies, products, and services.

Anthony is involved in a number of additional activities in Northeast Ohio, including his work as a Managing Member of Neutral Field, LLC, and as a founder of Medical Milestones . Anthony holds a BS Degree in Biology from Denison University, an MS in Biology from The University of Akron, and an MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College. Anthony is a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio, where he is active in many local community and business interests.

GLITeC is NASA's Midwest Regional Technology Transfer Center. GLITeC commercializes technology that contributes significantly to economic activity and improves the quality of life in the Great Lakes region. Regional economic development, in the form of newly created jobs and products, helps assure continued regional support for NASA Glenn and its programs. In the last three years, GLITeC has returned over $56 million in economic impact to the region, in terms of realized cost savings and new sales. As a result of GLITeC's efforts, NASA has developed numerous partnerships with many companies, including well established large corporations, small companies, disadvantaged companies, and start-ups.
