DENNIS MCGINN NAMED CORPORATE OFFICER AT BATTELLE
Columbus, Ohio--Dennis McGinn was elected a corporate officer at a recent Battelle Board of Directors meeting. McGinn, a Senior Vice President, heads up Battelle's Energy, Transportation, and Environment Division.
McGinn, a retired Vice Admiral from the U.S. Navy, joined Battelle in 2003 as a Vice President for strategic planning and business development for Battelle's government market sectors. In October he became General Manager of the Energy, Transportation and Environment Division.
McGinn's most recent position with the Navy was Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, Warfare Requirements and Programs at the Pentagon. A naval aviator, test pilot, and national security strategist during his 35-year-year naval career, he also commanded the U.S. Third Fleet and was Director of Naval Aviation Warfare.
McGinn, 60, received a B.S. in Naval Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and was a strategic studies fellow in the U.S. Naval War College. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the U.S. Naval Institute.
Currently, McGinn serves on the board of directors of Brookhaven Science Associates, the board of advisors of the American Council on Renewable Energy and is a Senior Fellow for International Security at the Rocky Mountain Institute. He also is serving as a Commissioner on the National Commission on Disabled Veterans' Benefits in Washington, DC.
