RICHARD N. MARTIN TO LEAD BATTELLE REGIONAL EFFORTS IN OKLAHOMA
Midwest City, OK—Battelle is turning to a 30-year veteran of the United States Air Force to lead its regional efforts in Oklahoma and related work at the Oklahoma Air Logistics Center at Tinker Air Force Base.
Richard N. Martin, DAFC (Ret.), began his duties as Regional Director out of Battelle's Midwest City office on March 29. The new responsibilities come on the heels of his recent retirement from the Air Force. He retired as a GS-15 and most recently was the Deputy Commander of the 327th Bomber/Missile Sustainment Group at Tinker.
"Richard Martin is a tremendous addition to Battelle and a perfect fit for our organization and for the needs of our customers in the region," said Pete Hennessey, Vice President for Battelle's Air Force Sector. "Obviously, he's well versed in the operation at the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center at Tinker Air Force Base, and he understands how our company can best serve the nation's war fighters." Martin served in a variety of positions earlier in his Air Force career, including systems management of Air Force commercial aircraft, work with the Air Force VIP/SAAM fleet at Andrews Air Force Base (including Air Force One), and Special Classified Programs for the depot. "I am excited to move into a new phase of my career and thrilled that this phase involves Battelle," Martin said. "This is an outstanding organization with a tremendous track record. I plan on making a considerable contribution to the good work they do here and around the globe." Martin is a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma and holds a master's degree in public administration and a bachelor's in political science. He also is a member of the DoD Acquisition Corps, certified to Level III in both Program Management and Acquisition Management. During his career, he received numerous awards including the Outstanding Civilian Career Service Award.
