BATTELLE HOSTING FIFTH ANNUAL GLOBAL RESEARCH ALLIANCE MEETING IN COLUMBUS
Columbus, Ohio--Battelle is hosting some of the world's leading research executives, including representatives from the World Bank, for the fifth annual Global Research Alliance (GRA) meeting in Columbus this week.
The GRA is an organization of international research institutes formed in 2002 to search for innovative solutions to global quality of life challenges. Battelle is the only North American member.
Along with the Battelle representatives, 16 senior management and technical leaders will be participating as GRA members or guests in the two-day event. They come from the leading research and technology institutes in their respective countries, including:

He also represents the World Bank on a number of global initiatives, including the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, the UNAIDS Committee of Co-sponsoring Organizations, the Education for All Fast Track Initiative, and the Health Metrics Network.
Among the members in attendance is Dr. Ramesh Mashelkar, Director General of CSIR India. Dr. Mashelkar was only the third Indian engineer to be elected Fellow of the Royal Society of London in 1998.
He also is a member of both the National Academy of Science and the National Academy of Engineers (U.S.).
