RENOWNED EXPERT IN BIOlOGICAL WEAPONS RESEARCH JOINS BATTELLE

Dr. Kenneth Alibek, a renowned expert in the area of biological weapons research, has recently joined Battelle.

Alibek, who emigrated from the former Soviet Union in 1992, has more than twenty years’ experience in biological weapons research, including extensive work in the areas of medical microbiology and biotechnology.

At Battelle, Alibek, who received his M.D. in 1975 and his doctorates in medical microbiology in 1984 and biotechnology in 1990, will develop new approaches to the medical aspects of defense against biological weapons, such as developing new diagnostic tools and treatment regimens for physicians confronted with cases of unfamiliar diseases after a biological attack.

“Dr. Alibek has many promising ideas for research into new treatment methodologies,” said Gregory Frank, Vice President and General Manager. “With his vast knowledge in these areas, Dr. Alibek is certain to contribute greatly to Battelle’s proven track record in the fields of medical defense against biological weapons and medical technology.”
