Ninth International Conference on Remediation and Management of Contaminated Sediments
January 9-12, 2017 | New Orleans, Louisiana
The Ninth International Conference on Remediation of Contaminated Sediments will be held January 9-12, 2017. We are pleased to announce that the Conference headquarters hotel will once again be the Sheraton New Orleans. Situated at 500 Canal Street, the Sheraton offers recently revitalized meeting space just a short walk from the French Quarter, the French Market, and the wealth of world-famous restaurants, shops, and historical sites that make up the original section of the oldest city in the U.S.
The Sediments Conference series is a forum for sharing research results, practical experiences, and opportunities associated with remediating, restoring and managing the environmental and economic vitality of waterways. Maintaining the viability of these aquatic systems requires complex actions that affect a diverse group of stakeholders and raise a wide range of environmental, economic, political and social issues.
The Eighth Sediments Conference (New Orleans, January 2015) was attended by 1,100 scientists, engineers, regulators, remediation site owners, and other environmental professionals, representing universities, government agencies, consultants, and R&D and service firms from over 20 countries.
As the organizer and presenter of the Conference, Battelle appreciates the participation of the Conference Sponsors, whose financial contributions help support the work of planning and conducting the Conference. The Call for Abstracts brochure provides an overview of the anticipated technical program scope and other aspects of the Conference.
Short courses will be offered on Monday, January 9, with the Exhibit Hall opening that evening, along with a Welcome Reception for all attendees. The technical program will be conducted Tuesday–Thursday, January 10-12, 2017. The breadth and depth of the technical program, combined with ample opportunities to meet and engage with other environmental professionals, will make participation in the Conference a valuable investment for you and your organization. Several student events will be provided, including a student paper competition and student networking and career development opportunities during the Conference.
As the program develops, information will be added to this website. The Preliminary Program brochure will be available here in October 2016, and will provide details on the session schedule, a list of the platform and poster presentations in each session, and short course descriptions.
