CASE STUDIES & INNOVATIONS:

Battelle specializes in nanocomposites solutions for every application—from electronics to health sciences, coatings to telecommunications, transportation to energy.

OUR APPROACH

Before embarking on a nanocomposites solution, Battelle conducts a cost-performance analysis to compare nanocomposites with conventional materials. Our nanotechnology team includes experts in synthetic organic, inorganic and polymer chemistry, optics, chemical engineering, and physics, as well as experts in fundamental technologies from the five National Laboratories we manage or co-manage for the US DOE. We work across Battelle with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, biologists, and biochemists to develop integrated, multi-disciplinary solutions for clients needs.

Core competencies in nanotechnology include:

  • Nanoparticle Selection and Characterization
  • Nanoparticle Functionalization
  • Dispersion
  • Nanocomposite Synthesis
  • Electronic and Optical Property Control
  • Molecular Modeling
