Battelle designs, fabricates, and installs customized armor systems on vehicles and equipment for the military and other government clients. Experts in energetics, materials, and engineering work with you to select the best armor system for specific needs and requirements. Designers and technicians then develop the component designs, fabricate the parts, and install them or train your staff for installation. During the design phase, we select the best material for each specific armor location on the vehicle to best meet your needs for performance, weight, and cost. We then develop detailed designs, including prototypes and mockups as necessary. Battelle tests its armor designs against live threat ordnance at its High Energy Research Laboratory Area (HERLA). We rely both on in-house capabilities and on a network of suppliers and teammates to fabricate field-installable modification kits and routinely train client personnel to install armor kits in the field or at client sites.
