We have extensive in vitro and in vivo experience and can accurately isolate, identify and characterize known and unknown metabolites in tissues and excreta. Our plant metabolism studies can be conducted in the greenhouse under environmentally controlled conditions or outside where typical farming and climatic conditions can be more closely simulated. We use state-of-the-art equipment and analytical techniques to give you accurate, dependable data. We perform studies on a full range of crops including cereals, vegetables, top fruit and vines. We are fully compliant with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and experienced in handling highly toxic, radiolabeled and biohazard samples.

In Vivo PK and TK Studies
As part of our general toxicology services, we perform in vivo pharmacokinetic and toxicokinetic studies in large and small models. Our small model studies use Empis/Culex/Raturn technology for automated dosing and sample collection.
In Vitro Metabolism
Battelle has extensive experience in evaluating in vitro metabolism with CYPs (cytochrome P450s), liver microsomes and hepatocytes. We identify major CYPs responsible for metabolism of candidates, examine the interaction potential for CYP inhibition and induction, and characterize metabolic pathways.
Our multidisciplinary teams combine bioanalytical and kinetic services for integrated, efficient kinetic studies. Our kineticists are experienced with a variety of exposure methods (intravenous, intraperitoneal, intramuscular, intrathecal, oral, dermal, dosed-feed, dosed-water and inhalation) and numerous species, including rat, hen, goat and swine.
