Unlike other technologies, the Battelle Smart Corrosion Detector capsule includes corrosion detection and self-healing chemicals in a single bead for maximum protection. The beads are mixed into paints and coatings. When corrosion is detected, they crack open to release a chemical that heals microscopic cracks.
