Transform Your Aging Legacy Systems

We offer immediate part replacement, an accelerated acquisition process and financial savings.

Avionics Modernization

Warfighters rely on up-to-date technology for success and safety on the battlefield. Battelle has the solution. With avionics modernization capabilities, we can deliver increased readiness, reliability, availability and maintainability to aging legacy systems.

We want our military members to have the most current technology at their fingertips. However, frequently buying and training on new equipment can be expensive and time consuming.

Some of the most difficult challenges to overcome include:
  • System obsolescence
  • Rising repair and inspection costs
  • Equipment downtime
  • Vanishing vendors
  • Lack of supplier availability
  • Safety improvements
See how our tailored solutions can help you fight obsolescence with technology.

If you don’t have technical data for us to work with, we can reverse engineer the system and document it for future use.

Battelle can transform your aging legacy systems into modern, capable and reliable products. Our approach offers immediate part replacement, accelerating the acquisition process and cutting costs by 50 percent or more.

Avionics Technology Modernization

Aging electronics and avionics can ground fleets or vehicles for obsolescence or performance. Technical data packages for these systems has often degraded with age or is entirely unavailable, meaning complete reverse engineering is required to develop drop-in compatible replacement avionics modules.

Battelle has manufactured thousands of these modules with the quality necessary for avionics applications. Manufacturing includes rigorous testing and operational environmental cycling, careful but collaborative supply chain management, dynamic manufacturing planning to meet customer needs. These systems were reverse engineered and newly, fully documented by Battelle’s experienced avionics engineering team.

Replacement control, display, indicator, sensor, and logic avionics modules used in the Black Hawk helicopter, Kiowa Warrior, A-10 Warthog, and C-130 aircraft. These systems typically include custom fabricated mounting and chassis components, custom circuitry that is often rigid-flex style, and electronic displays or customized LED-illuminated panels.
