Battelle Research Leader John Campbell will preside over Roadway Design and Operation: Using Human Factors to Guide Data-Driven Decision Making. In this workshop, John will present “Using Human Factors to Improve Road Safety Decisions.”

Jan. 7, 2018 - 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Battelle Research Leader John Campbell and  Antonio Caamano from Rey Juan Carlos University will present at the Data Collection, Experiments, and Instrumentation in Connected Multimodal Transportation Systems, “From Traveler Behavior to Driver Behavior: Cell Phone Data Collection Platform in Intermodal Connected Urban Environments."

Jan. 8, 2018 - 8 a.m. to noon 
Battelle Senior Research Engineer Doug Pape will summarize a recent project on Infrastructure Initiatives to Apply Connected and Automated Vehicle Technology to Roadway Departures during the meeting of the Traffic Control Devices Committee.  

Jan. 9, 2018 - 1:30 to 3:15 p.m.
Battelle researchers David Neumeister and Doug Pape will lead a discussion of Connected and Autonomous Vehicle Sensory System Performance Under Adverse Weather Conditions. We’ll be summarizing the project tasks so far, including results from a literature review and eliciting feedback from stakeholder participants in a workshop format. Stop by and give us your input on research needs.

Joonbum Lee, Battelle Research Scientist, will be presenting at the Analysis of SHRP 2 Safety Data: Slice, Dice, Chop, or Julienne? workshop about “Data Processing and Statistical Considerations in the Analysis of Site-Based Time-Series Data from the SHRP 2 NDS”

Battelle Transportation team members John Campbell, James Brown, Joonbum Lee, Christian Richard and Conner Hoover will be presenting at the SHRP 2 Safety Data: Key Results from State DOT Research to discuss “Using SHRP 2 Data to Examine the Relationship Between Roadway Characteristics and Vehicle Speed in Washington State.”

A paper by Battelle Research Leader John Campbell and Samer Hamdar from George Washington University will be presenting at the Travel Behavior workshop to discuss “Measuring the Impact of Motivations on Travelers’ Strategic Decisions in Different Traffic Conditions: Data Collection, Analysis, and Modeling.”
