PFOS/PFOA: Dynamic Policy, Technical & Public Outreach Challenges Faced by DOD
The SAME Baltimore Post and Mid-Atlantic Region of Environmental Professionals (MAREP) are hosting a virtual workshop on the challenges related to two specific types of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
The workshop is scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. on April 21, 2021.
Many provisions of the FY21 National Defense Authorization Act addressing perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) present challenges to the Department of Defense. The challenges are compounded by an ever-changing legal and policy environment as well as a dynamic public space.
Battelle is proud to be part of this virtual workshop that will be discussing these challenges.
We’re at the forefront of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) research, conducting urgently needed research to better understand the fate and transport of these substances and minimizing environmental and human health concerns.
Jeffrey Rose, Battelle Vice President of Government Affairs and Public Policy, will be one of the speakers during the event.
