Battelle lands $400M federal contract to decontaminate N95 masks for hospitals in more cities

Columbus, Ohio (April 11, 2020)—Battelle will greatly expand deployment of its equipment to decontaminate protective face masks for re-use – and offer the service free to hospitals – under a $400 million federal contract.

The Columbus research nonprofit got emergency approval to use the system one week ago from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Systems are currently operating in West Jefferson and the New York City and Seattle areas that are seeing surges of the coronavirus pandemic.
