ARLINGTON, Virginia (Dec. 16, 2016)—Leaders in the NBC industry gathered Thursday in the historic Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall to recognize one of the industry’s most promising young researchers—Battelle’s David Winkel—with the Dr. Billy Richardson Award.

Ohio is facing a major opioid overdose crisis. And as many Ohio families fight opioid abuse, the impact cascades into the learning environments in Ohio schools. Today, the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio STEM Learning Network are announcing a program to help schools better prepare for this crisis.

This year, scientists and engineers from Battelle brought fascinating technology to the event and were rewarded with a top prize. NeuroLife®, a Battelle-invented system that currently allows a paralyzed man to have conscious control of his fingers, hand and wrist—via his thoughts—took home three prizes. In addition to being named one of the top 100 technologies for the year, NeuroLife® also received special recognition for Social Responsibility and brought home the Editor’s Choice Award. The Battelle team was recognized at R&D Magazine’s annual ceremony Nov. 4 at National Harbor in Maryland.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Oct. 21, 2016) – Battelle Healthcare Colloquium presented Lisa Ciambra, RN, CVNC, OhioHealth Grant Medical Center Staff Nurse and Heart Failure Educator, with the 2016 Heart Failure Nurse Maven Award during a ceremony and reception at Battelle Oct. 18, 2016.

Two recent contract wins allow Battelle to continue to help the FHWA operate our nation’s highways, manage traffic and highway operations, and reduce crashes.

FREDERICK, MD (Sept. 23, 2015)—The Battelle National Biodefense Institute has been awarded a new 10-year management and operations contract for the National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (June 15, 2016)—Battelle announced today the release of version 2.2 of its WayFinder QI Dashboard, an affordable, advanced analytics tool for hospitals and hospital networks to track and analyze Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and other quality metrics.
