Before You Start

We couldn’t be happier to have you as part of the Battelle team. We know you’ve already taken quite a few steps to get here. Now you just have a couple more before you walk through the doors.

You’ve done the heaving lifting already: application, interviews, drug screening, etc. Check out these reminders of what you need to do to be prepared for your first day.

Check-in with your recruiter

Contact your recruiter at least three business days before your start date. Recruiters will identify any outstanding items that need to be addressed before your first day.

Bring your ID

You must have a valid state-issued ID with you on your first day. If you are not a U.S. citizen, you also need to bring a valid passport with you.

Bring your supporting I-9 documents

For your first day you also will need to bring the originals of your I-9 documents. View a list of acceptable documents

Review the sample Employee Agreement

At least three days prior to your start day, review the sample Employee Agreement you were provided. You signed the agreement as part of your onboarding paperwork, but please review it again and bring up any questions or concerns you may have. If you have any questions, please ask your recruiter right away.

Tips

Make sure you know the address of your new location. Check out the full list here.

Know where you are expected to park on your first day and which entryway to use.

Know what time you should arrive.

Understand appropriate attire for the work site (business casual, lab gear, etc.).
