Battelle Employee Benefits

Battelle employees enjoy wide-ranging benefits, including matching contributions for retirement savings; comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage; and flexible plans for paid time off. Battelle extends benefits to same- or opposite-sex registered partners and maintains a dedicated benefits staff who provide employees with in-person, over-the-phone and web-based assistance.

What we offer

Medical Plan - Battelle offers a choice of medical plans, including a PPO and HSA-compatible health plans. Prescription drug benefits are included with the chosen medical plan.

Dental Plan - Dental coverage is available, including preventive, restorative and orthodontia.

Flexible Spending Accounts - Healthcare and Dependent Daycare accounts are a great way to save money by allowing you to pay for eligible expenses on a before-tax basis. The Healthcare FSA includes a debit card.

Wellness Incentives
– Employees can reduce future medical plan premiums by making and tracking healthy choices through the InShape Incentives program.

Accident Insurance - Employees automatically receive Business Travel Accident coverage and have the option of enrolling in Group Accident insurance for themselves and their families.

Basic Life Insurance - Battelle provides employees with life insurance coverage and the option to purchase Additional Life Insurance for themselves and additional dependents.

Voluntary Benefits - Battelle offers employees access to additional benefits provided by various insurers at a group discount and with the convenience of payroll deduction. Choices include accidental injury insurance, critical illness insurance, pet insurance and identity theft protection services.

Employee Assistance Program -  Confidential counseling or referral services are available to employees and members of their household for concerns such as alcohol and drug abuse, workplace issues, stress, anxiety, legal assistance and financial services.

Paid Time Off - Battelle provides an allotted number of days off to use at an employee’s discretion for vacation, floating holidays, special leave, doctors’ appointments and sick days.

Short-Term and Long-Term Disability -  The Short-Term Disability is a fully employer-paid benefit that provides continuity of income for illness or injury lasting more than five work days, including maternity leave. Long-Term Disability provides protection against complete loss of income for extended absences due to disabling illness or injury.

Savings Plan - The Savings Plan is a 401(k) plan that includes matching contributions made by Battelle. Before-tax, after-tax and Roth contribution options are available and the plan offers a wide variety of investment options.

Tuition Reimbursement - This program provides reimbursement of tuition and certain fees to qualified candidates pursuing course work applicable to their job responsibilities.

Public Loan Forgiveness Program
– As a tax-exempt organization, Battelle employees may be eligible for the federal government’s Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
