So far, he has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers, authored two books on the design of neurotechnology, and holds seven patents.

Tony Duong, Ph.D.
Lead Drug Delivery ScientistDr. Duong has 14 years of experience performing polymer and lipid nano/microparticle drug delivery research and building agile biomedical research teams with competitive intellectual property strategies. His experiences in academia and industry have allowed him to develop a unique understanding of nanoscience combined with a knowledge of the patent landscape to form competitive intellectual property strategies. At Battelle, he has led technical efforts on several programs, bringing together business development and technical teams spanning national security, environment and agriculture, and heath. -
Amy Dindal
Business Line Director, Environment and AgricultureResponsible for coordinating and overseeing Battelle enterprise-capabilities in PFAS including laboratory analyses, site characterization, contaminant remediation, and health risk management/communication that delivers value-added, tailored environmental restoration solutions. -
Gabe Meister
Research LeaderGabe Meister is a Sr. Scientist with 20 years of experience working in the discovery and preclinical phases of vaccine and drug development. Dr. Meister has led multiple programs at Battelle that have resulted in FDA approval of novel therapeutics for the treatment of rare and life-threatening diseases. Most recently Dr. Meister leads a diverse group of scientists and engineers in developing novel drug delivery technologies.

Kavitha Dasu, Ph.D.
PFAS Technical Lead Research LeaderWith a Ph.D. in environmental chemistry and 12 years of industry experience, Kavitha is an known authority on the analysis of PFAS and other emerging chemicals. At Battelle, Kavitha is leading innovative analytical research on emerging contaminants to solve highly complex environmental problems, including new method development and validation of new PFAS technologies. -
Doug Thornton, Ph.D.
Technical DirectorDoug is a Technical Director in Battelle’s National Security internal research and development program. He provides leadership in maturing and connecting capabilities with customers - emphasizing on Battelle’s ultrawideband aperture capability. Doug has been a key contributor in capturing cyber work for Battelle enabling the division to grow from 60 engineers to 200 over the past 7 years. -

Design Verification LeadAdam, our Design Verification Lead, guides major microelectronics verification and validation efforts as a principal investigator for Battelle’s clients. -
Paula Mabee, Ph.D.
Chief Scientist and Observatory Director, National Ecological Observatory NetworkPaula Mabee became the Chief Scientist and Observatory Director for the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) in early 2020. She was most recently a Nolop Distinguished Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of South Dakota, serving in that capacity since 1997. She joined the National Science Foundation in 2015, serving until 2017 as Division Director for the Division of Environmental Biology in the Directorate of Biological Sciences. -

Senior Technical LeaderNeeraj is a Senior Technical Leader who is an expert in deep geological carbon capture and storage (CCS), providing technical and program development leadership for Battelle’s carbon management and subsurface exploration. -
Drew Cawthon
Business Line Director, Life Sciences ResearchDrew manages just over 300 staff engaged in pre-clinical and clinical research for both government and commercial clients. Drew’s team provides integrated scientific and technological capabilities in high hazard and biocontainment toxicology, assay development and validation services, and toxicology and pharmacology for support for investigational new drug studies. Drew and the members of his team also support clinical research through the Battelle Public Health Research Center in Baltimore, Maryland and provide onsite scientific support for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA.
