The Human Rights Campaign Foundation has rated companies across the nation on LGBTQ+ inclusion for 20 years.

In 2022, it released its 20th edition of the Corporate Equality Index, a survey that shows how corporations create equitable workplaces through policy, practices and benefits for LGBTQ+ employees.

The report included more than 1,200 participating companies that agreed to have their policies and benefits analyzed, and had more than 800 with high scores, according to the Washington, D.C.-based foundation, which works to make sure LGBTQ+ people are treated equally.

A high score means the organization "successfully incorporated equitable practices that ensure their employees can thrive and live life authentically," according to the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.

They were awarded points for workplace protections, inclusive benefits and social responsibility.

A record-setting 842 businesses met all criteria and got a 100% rating, also being designated as a 2022 "Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality."
