WASHINGTON DC, March 1, 2024 – Battelle, a global leader in science and technology solutions, has partnered with the Association for Women in Science (AWIS) to provide professional development and engagement opportunities for employees.

Dr. Elizabeth Jackson, a Senior Research Scientist at Battelle and Co-chair of the Battelle Women’s Network, spearheaded the decision to partner with AWIS. “In a recent survey of employees, women told us that opportunities for professional growth and career development are a priority,” Dr. Jackson said. “We were searching for an organization to partner with, and AWIS quickly rose to the top of our list.”

Battelle’s Seattle office had been involved with the Seattle AWIS chapter since 2016, contributing to two annual scholarships, participating in their annual June awards banquet, and hosting scholarship recipients at local Battelle events. Having been involved with these events, Dr. Jackson recognized the value AWIS could bring to Battelle employees.

“We view AWIS as a key partner in creating avenues for engagement,” Dr. Jackson continued. “Our employees look forward to gaining access to AWIS resources such as webinars and videos, blogs, and the speakers’ bureau, as well as events and networking opportunities available through AWIS local chapters.”
