Battelle spin-off Revive Environmental is gaining attention for its breakthrough technology that destroys harmful “forever chemicals” (PFAS) found in legacy firefighting foam. These chemicals, long known for their persistence in the environment and links to serious health risks, have posed a major disposal challenge for fire departments nationwide. Through collaboration with Ohio leaders and state-funded programs, Revive has enabled departments like Franklin Township to safely eliminate stockpiles of banned foam at no cost. Battelle's PFAS ANNIHILATOR® Destruction Technology, a large-scale system using heat, pressure, and supercritical water oxidation, neutralizes these chemicals and converts waste into near-pure water, eliminating the need for incineration or long-term storage.
